Types of Thermal Cameras
https://www.facilitiesnet.com/equipmentrentaltools/article/Understanding-the-Three-Types-of-Infrared-Cameras--10652
Short-Wavelength
- detect IR wavelengths in the 0.9-1.7 micron range (Close to visible light)
- High resolution
- Lots of shadow contrast and detail
Medium Wavelength
- 2-5 micron IR wavelengths
- High resolution, accurate cameras
- Higher atmospheric absorption in this range
- Generally used for extreme high-temp work such as boilers (def not us)
Long Wavelength
- Most popular type
- Detect in the 7-12 micron range
- Lots of detail because this range has minimal atmospheric absorption
- High accuracy
