Overview

This document summarizes the CDR Requirements for the Structures/Thermals Categories. As such, the document will be split into the according sections below. The information in this document summarizes the information discussed in the Pre-CDR Briefing.

General Information

This section lists general information about the CDR that does not pertain to a specific sub-category.

The Structural/Thermal Section of the CDR presentation will be worth a combined 15 points. 5 points are allocated to the Mechanical component, 5 points are awarded to the Simulations component, and 5 points are awarded to the Thermals Component. When summarizing the major components of the spacecraft, please list any major decisions made when choosing between building versus buying.

Structures

The structures section is responsible for the following items. Each section of structures has been broken down into their respective sub-categories.

Spacecraft Structural Drawings

• Show 2-D and isometric drawings of your spacecraft
  • Within the reference drawings, confirm that the dimensional tolerances are up to spec

Spacecraft Structure

• Create a co-ordinate system called “Mechanical Build Co-ordinate System” at the geometric center of the spacecraft
