Introduction

The following outlines the general components of the secondary payload subsystem architecture

Secondary Payload Component Details

The secondary payload system consists of the OBC, a green laser beacon mounted onto the CubeSat provided by Qeynet, as well as the laser ground station which will aid in helping position the satellite.

The purpose of the secondary payload is to:

  1. Locate the coordinates of the transmitted laser at a given point in time from a picture captured by the secondary payload camera
  2. Send those coordinates to STEVE, which is the adjustment algorithm under development by GNC, in order to perform orientation adjustment
  3. Use the onboard QeyNet Laser Beacon to transmit light of a given frequency, back

Secondary Payload Firmware

The firmware component, will require:

  1. A filtering algorithm, which takes an image as input, and calculates the coordinate of the brightest pixel in the image as output
