The Sedra Student Design Centre requires design teams to have a Safety Captain. This page holds safety information for UW Orbital.

Required Safety Training

It is the responsibility of the team to identify and keep an up-to-date list of core members. Core members are identified by the team as those who, on a regular basis access and use the team workbay and shared-use spaces. The team lead will provide updates during the term whenever core members are to be added or removed from the list. (Sedra Student Design Centre Team Agreement)

Please NOTE: The listed training below may not match up with those from the Sedra Student Design Center Safety Manual. In that case, only those in the SSDC manual are mandatory.

These safety trainings are:

1. Student Safety Orientation / WHMIS 2015 (UW Safety Office, online)
2. Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps (Students) (UW Safety Office, online)
3. Sedra Student Design Centre Safety Orientation, or the Student Design Center Safety Requirements (Self-registered LEARN, online)
4. Engineering Student Machine Shop Safety Orientation (Self-registered LEARN, online)
5. Team-specific safety orientation
