This used to be the old Dev Environment Setup tutorial for CDH members. I’ve moved it to our How-To Guides section in case it’s still helpful.

Introduction

This document gives a brief demo for Code Composer Studio (CCS) and HALCoGen.

Check out How-To: HALCoGen for more information about HALCoGen.

Important

Since the writing of this document, we have changed the processor for the TMS570LS1224 to the RM46L852. Some of the screenshots will still have the old processor names on them.

Just pretend that it says the name of the new processor. I've changed most of the text to reflect the new processor.

Preface

This document was written right after I got my setup to work properly, which means I still have very limited knowledge of the different software and systems at the time of writing.

I ran into various issues which were solved with a lot of google searching and forum browsing. This is what most of the information on this page comes from, this means you could maybe find better resources out there, but I already spent a long time doing that. So this is my best summary to help new members onboard, or at least save some time for you to not go through the same things I did.

The document might be a little long, this is because I try to provide explanations on why we are doing something, or what something does. If you just want the quickest way to get up and running and play around with things yourself. (which is a perfectly valid way to learn) I try to underline the most important instructions.
